What to sell
People are buying a gift, not a tasting menu. Two sizes and one backup item cover almost every order.
- A 6-cookie box for a small gift.
- A 12-cookie box for a household or an office desk.
- A dozen of one design if you do not want to pack assortments.
- One icing color story (red, pink, white). New colors per order will sink the week.
- A gift note only if you can write it during packing. If you cannot, do not offer the field.
When to open and close
- Jan 20-24: lock designs, box sizes, and prices. Order boxes and ribbon before you open.
- Jan 26: open preorders and post one link.
- Feb 10: close orders. Feb 11-12 is bake day and packing.
- Feb 13 and the morning of Feb 14: pickup. Afternoon on the 14th is when people are already at dinner.
- Do not take “I’ll text you the design” after the close date.
Gift orders need a name on the box
A lot of these cookies are not for the person who paid. The order should say who it is for and which pickup window they chose. Pack those first if the window is Feb 13, because some buyers are shipping the box across town by hand the next morning.

Around January 26 for a February 13-14 pickup. Open in early January only if the cookies are elaborate and you need the count before you buy chocolate and packaging.
How many designs should I offer?⌄
One. Maybe two if they share the same dough and icing base. A menu of eight hearts looks busy and then every order is a custom job.
What if someone wants a custom message on every cookie?⌄
That is a different product. Either charge for it and limit how many you take, or say no and sell the set menu. Writing 40 different phrases on February 12 is how boxes go out late.
